Strong points

 

  • presence of Techirghiol Lake, lake with great potential for tourism, leisure, and spa;
  • the airfield
  • location near the Eforie resort;
  • location near the detours of Metropolitan Area Constanța with connection to Bucharest-Constanța highway;
  • location near Constanța (22 km away), the second city in the country;
  • city with important residential potential;
  • tourism and fishery potential;
  • development capabilities of solar energy;
  • port suitable for tourism activity development, and for repairing small boats.

Weak points

 

  • internal roads less developed, unpaved streets;
  • large areas in the city without water and sewerage;
  • precarious housing situation for many categories of disadvantaged people (young people, people with low incomes, families with many children, Roma).
  • areas near houses or residential areas with animal farms;
  • lack of green spaces, according to European standards;
  • low percentage of collection of taxes to local budget, which is thus insufficient;
  • fragmentation of agricultural land

Opportunities

 

  • the belonging of Tuzla town to Metropolitan Area Constanța enables the development of integrated development projects for entire area, including the town of Tuzla;
  • accessing the European programs of non-reimbursable financing, as well as other national and local financing programs.
  • awareness of importance of training programs and of continuous training of persons engaged in work;
  • creation of new jobs by increased private investments;
  • developing new residential areas

Threats

 

  • absence of coherent policies and strategies for integrated economic development of the area;
  • delay in city development and loss of non-reimbursable financing - the only way for rapid development and transformation of the city;
  • erosion of beaches can affect the long-term development of tourism activities in this area;
  • fiscal and legislative environment that discourage large investments in production, where the return on investment is moderate, and with multiple risk factors;
  • acute shortage of funds and resources to rehabilitation and development of local infrastructure.
