Strong points

 

  • junction of road traffic and possibility of navigation traffic;
  • location on the 4 pan-European transport corridor;
  • diversified road, rail and river navigation network, with a strong character of transit;
  • land with a high quality indicator for agriculture, with land improvement works;
  • relatively well developed infrastructure of utilities for water, sewer, electricity and heat supply;
  • developed and adapted to the area school education network (classical education, alternative education, theoretical and vocational education);
  • water resources;
  • high potential for production of electricity from alternative sources.

Weak points

 

  • relatively small underground resources;
  • negative general demographic balance;
  • lack of jobs, rising trend of the unemployment rate;
  • low level of education, below the national average;
  • lack of urban amenities necessary for the economic and social development;
  • lack of business infrastructure;
  • lack of land that can attract new investors;
  • poor development of technical infrastructure in Nazarcea;
  • lack of natural gas distribution network;
  • low level of SME development;
  • absence of a mechanism for selective stimulation of industrial activities and for promoting clean industries that produce goods with high added value;
  • weak development of services;
  • poor endowment of schools with equipment and materials, insufficient connection to modern technologies;
  • old medical units, some not yet renewed;
  • fewer opportunities for recreation within the area or nearby;
  • lack of protective green belts;
  • lack of an integrated ecological waste management;

  • integrated development of metropolitan type by membership of the town Poarta Albă in the Metropolitan Area Constanţa;
