MURFATLAR CITY - PRESENTATION

 

Located in the west of Constanţa municipality, at a distance of 18 km, the city Murfatlar has in its composition the locality Murfatlar and the village Siminoc.
Population
The city's population is 10,746 people, most of Romanian nationality, which coexist with Turks, Tatars and Roma ethnic.
Short Description
The administrative territory of the city has an area of 6925.075 ha, and its economic activity is based primarily on trade, followed by other sectors: transport, services, agriculture, industry and constructions.
The tourism in the Murfatlar city is intended to be an important component of social-economic life, having as main axis the cultural-historical objectives recognized and protected by law. Here is one of 13 major religious tourist destinations of the country: the monastic rupestral complex of Murfatlar, one of the oldest place of devotion in Romania, also considered of inestimable value because of its inscriptions in Gothic, Germanic, Greek and Slavic alphabet.
Among the tourist objectives of the Murfatlar city is also the natural reserve "Fântăniţa" within which there is also a camping trip with the same name. Also, this city is known throughout the country and abroad for the valuable species of wine. In that way, another point of attraction of the city it is represented the winery and winemaking complex SC "Murfatlar România" SA., the most important wine producer in Romania.
